Spurs' Victor Wembanyama 'Looking Forward' to Paris Game Next Season

Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs are playing in Paris for a regular season game next season.
In this story:

The San Antonio Spurs softly launched their plans to be part of the league's Paris Games in 2025 in the press conference following Sunday's win against the Brooklyn Nets.

The win against the Nets came in the team's second game in Austin at the Moody Center. It marked the second consecutive year the Spurs played home games away from San Antonio in an effort to reach out to fans beyond the local area.

Of course, interest in the Spurs has picked up in Paris and in France since the arrival of No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama, who is excited to return to his hometown in the middle of next season.

“I’m looking forward to it very much,” Wembanyama said. “Obviously it’s going to be probably the game or the games that are going to be very important for me, because of course it’s me coming back from where I come from, especially might be in my city or around the city. So it’s going to be very special. Also, it is going to allow me to see maybe my family in the middle of the season, which doesn’t happen often. So it’s great.”

Of course, the Spurs are a while away from playing in Paris, but it's something to keep in the back of the mind.
