Spurs' Victor Wembanyama Selected for Rising Stars Game; Full Rosters Revealed
San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama is already set to participate in the NBA's Skills Challenge at 2024 All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, but unsurprisingly, this was only the beginning of his participation in the star-studded festivities.
Insider Shams Charania announced Tuesday that the league has released the rosters for the NBA Rising Stars Game. Wemby is likely the front-runner for the Rookie of the Year award and headlines an NBA Rookies team that features notable names like Scoot Henderson of the Portland Trail Blazers, Cason Wallace of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets, and Dereck Lively II of the Dallas Mavericks.
The NBA Sophomore teams features some true second-year rising stars like Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, OKC's Jalen Williams, Bennedict Mathurin of the Indiana Pacers, and Portland's Shaedon Sharpe.
Here's a look at the complete rosters for both teams:
Through his first 41 career games, Wembanyama is averaging 20.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 3.1 blocks and 1.1 steals. He leads all rookies in points, rebounding and blocks and is the NBA's current leader in blocks per game. These numbers could earn him a spot as a reserve in the 2024 All-Star Game for the Western Conference.
The NBA's Rising Stars Game is on Friday, Feb. 16.
