The San Antonio Spurs beat the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, 118-111. The Spurs have won two games in a row after beating the Phoenix Suns on Monday night and have now won a game against the Jazz this season.

Jeremy Sochan followed up his 26-point, 18-rebound effort on Monday with 17 points and eight boards, and he made two threes. The Spurs were led by Devin Vassell with 31 points, and Malaki Branham showed out and added 17 points to the total.

The Jazz were led by Collin Sexton's 26 points, and rookie Keyonte George added 14 points. Victor Wembanyama bested Walker Kessler down low in the game, scoring 19 points and adding eight boards on top of six blocks.

The Spurs led by double-digits for much of the game, although the Jazz did attempt a fourth-quarter comeback, closing the gap and getting within four points. While Keldon Johnson and Jordan Clarkson were notable game-time scratches, Lauri Markkanen did play and added 25 points, although he did come up hobbling in the fourth quarter when Wembanyama collided with his calf.

Neither the Spurs nor Jazz were in the playoff picture, and neither team was playing for seeding, but both Utah and San Antonio fought throughout the game in order to bring home a win as a point of pride. Both teams are in the midst of their rebuilds, and draft position remains paramount to both franchises.

The Spurs will return home for a two-game homestand against the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks this weekend.
