Spurs Fiesta 5: San Antonio 'Ain't Picking' Alabama Star Brandon Miller?

Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.

In this story:

1. NBA ALUM SOUNDS OFF ON SPURS, ALABAMA PROSPECT BRANDON MILLER

"A recent mock draft by Draft Express has the Spurs selecting Miller out of Alabama third overall, but his off-court concerns made NBA alum Jordan Crawford laugh at the mere suggestion that San Antonio would draft him.

“Spurs asked me in my meeting with them… what if we pick you and you go back to Detroit and you get shot? Lol spurs ain’t picking him,” Crawford tweeted."

2. POP 'PROUD' OF SPURS DESPITE LOSS

“They did a great job,” Popovich said. “A lot of guys got minutes. Combinations were a little strange probably, but their competitiveness and execution here and there were great. Really proud of them.”

3. SPURS TOP 125

"Despite their poor team record, Vassell and Johnson ranked above proven veteran wings, the likes of RJ Barrett (No. 96, New York Knicks), Tobias Harris (No. 97, Philadelphia 76ers) and Dillon Brooks (No. 103, Memphis Grizzlies) -- all of which have proven themselves as fringe, if not bonafide 20-point-per-game scorers in their careers as well as key contributors on teams with legitimate championship aspirations."

4. MJ SELLING HORNETS?

Michael Jordan has owned a stake in the Charlotte Hornets for 17 years, but that may soon come to an end.

According to ESPN, Jordan is in "serious talks" to sell the franchise to a pair of buyers, including Hornets minority owner Gabe Plotkin.

5. NEXT SPURS GAME

The Spurs are back in action tonight when the division rival Memphis Grizzlies come to town. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. You can watch in-market on Bally Sports Southwest or out-of-market on NBA League Pass.
