Spurs Fiesta 5: San Antonio Given Harsh Grade for Season

Inside The Spurs identifies five of the biggest NBA storylines in addition to relevant San Antonio Spurs news and analysis.

In this story:

1. SPURS REPORT CARD

"The San Antonio Spurs finished within striking distance of their preseason over/under, but they still fall shy of a C thanks to posting the league's worst net rating. It wasn't all bad for the Spurs this season, though," Bleacher Report writes. "Keldon Johnson averaged 22.0 points, 2.9 assists and 2.1 threes. Devin Vassell averaged 18.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.7 threes, while shooting 38.7 percent from deep. Jeremy Sochan looks capable of developing into a defensive menace. And Zach Collins averaged 16.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 threes, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks after Jakob Poeltl was traded."

2. SPURS POWER RANKINGS

"The Spurs had one mission this season, and they accomplished it by earning the highest odds at a shot at Victor Wembanyama," CBS Sports writes. "Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell look like solid pieces moving forward, but outside of that we didn't learn a whole lot about San Antonio's future this year."

3. SPURS RE-DRAFT

"Sochan and Branham were some of the most advantageous of the opportunity to play a decent amount of minutes for the Spurs this season, a chance they may not have gotten if they played for a different team. Now, each player can take a moment, breathe, and continue to develop in their first official NBA offseason."

4. WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S GAMES

Chicago Bulls vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:00 p.m., TNT

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans, 9:30 p.m., TNT

5. NBA DRAFT LOTTERY COUNTDOWN

The Spurs are 34 days away from the NBA Draft Lottery, where it will be revealed if San Antonio will have the opportunity to take Victor Wembanyama with the No. 1 overall pick.
