The San Antonio Spurs are a few weeks away from a potentially massive moment in the direction of the franchise.

The Spurs, along with the Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets, hold the highest odds to land the No. 1 pick in this year's NBA Draft, which gives the team the power to select 7-5 French big man Victor Wembanyama.

Regardless of which team ends up with the top pick, Wembanyama is the type of player teams build around, and ESPN believes that he would be a particularly great match in San Antonio.

"From an on-court perspective, Wembanyama and the Spurs are an exceptionally clean match," ESPN writes. "San Antonio needs someone to help carry the offensive load and to anchor its defense in the paint. The idea that Wembanyama will eventually do both at an elite level is what makes him a generational NBA prospect. The young players San Antonio has drafted and developed recently project more safely as solid supporting pieces than stars."

Wembanyama may struggle to start, but given the lack of players with true star potential in San Antonio, the Spurs provide a blueprint to allow the French teenager a chance to be the focal point from the jump.
