San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama continues to be the talk of the town during his first season in the NBA. Unsurprisingly, the hype surrounding some of his game-worn attire is almost matching the attention he’s receiving on the court.

The jersey Wembanyama wore in his NBA debut sold for a whopping $762,000 at a Sotheby's auction on Tuesday. Per the website, the white No. 1 Spurs home jersey had an original estimated selling price of $80,000-$120,000.

“This jersey is a generational opportunity to own an iconic piece of the 'Wemby' story,” the item description reads.

The jersey was only worn in the second half of Wemby’s debut, as the Spurs lost 126–119 to the Dallas Mavericks at home. However, this might unofficially make it more valuable considering that Wembanyama started settling in and making and impact as the game went into the fourth quarter.

He finished his debut with 15 points and five rebounds on 6 of 9 shooting.

Through the first 14 games of his career, Wembanyama is averaging 18.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.6 blocks. He’s played in every game so far this season despite the speculation that the Spurs were going to give him early-season rest nights.

Since the first week of the season, the Spurs have looked like one of the worst teams in the NBA. San Antonio is currently on a nine-game losing streak and sits at 3-11 headed into Wednesday’s meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers at Frost Bank Center.
