Bradley Beal Speaks on Back Issues, Return to Suns

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal is set to play for the first time in a month tomorrow.

PHOENIX -- It feels like forever ago when the Phoenix Suns saw Bradley Beal on the court, though time flies in the nonstop schedule of NBA basketball. 

Beal has been out due to lower back issues since Nov. 12 and has played just three games in the 2023-24 regular season. After being traded to Phoenix over the summer, there's been heavy expectations for the team to propel themselves to new heights. 

Thus far, their Big 3 of Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant hasn't touched the court together. 

Yet that could all change tomorrow night when the Golden State Warriors visit town, as Beal is officially available for the Suns while Durant himself is questionable with an ankle injury.

After today's practice, Beal met with reporters on the process the last month has been. 

"It was more than a strain. I can't give you all the details, I would be here all day," joked Beal. The Suns recently shut him down for three weeks to allow him time to heal. 

"I probably would have played through the process if I didn't listen to my teammates. I think they more or less gave me confidence and kind of made me feel better about the situation. It sucks to be hurt - nobody wants to be hurt. ... I hate to be in that position but to hear from K [Kevin Durant] and hear it from Book [Devin Booker] like, 'No, take your time, make sure you're 100%. We got it. We have more than enough to stay afloat and push this thing to where we want to go. We need you down the stretch'

"That made me feel awesome every single day. It frustrated me because I wanted to be out there super bad and I wanted to be out there with them, but more than anything it speaks volumes on their character and their mindset when it comes to us as players."
