Monty Williams Sounds Off on NBA, Officiating After Nuggets' Huddle Nonsense

Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams wasn't a fan of some huddle nonsense in Game 5.

The Phoenix Suns were unable to grab a pivotal Game 5 victory against the Denver Nuggets, pinning them down 3-2 against the Denver Nuggets.

A big Game 6 back in Phoenix awaits them, though there's plenty of issues for the Suns to correct between now and then.

However, Suns coach Monty Williams knows one adjustment the league and their officials can make: Not letting players walk into an opposing team's huddle during a timeout or break.

This happened in the late stages of the third quarter when the Suns were down by 19 points. Bruce Brown tried to walk into Phoenix's huddle but Kevin Durant wasn't having it, pushing Brown away on multiple occasions.

Nikola Jokic also made an appearance before also being pushed by Durant, (admittedly selling his fall after contact was made) and drawing a technical foul on Durant. Brown eventually ended up with a tech as well when the officials reviewed the situation:

Following the game, Williams offered this on the situation:

"The league has to figure out all that stuff. It's just too much silliness going on in the NBA when it comes to that. Everybody does it. There should be like a written rule that you shouldn't walk over to somebody's huddle, but everybody in the league does that. It's kind of silly."

There's been no shortage of these sort of antics during this series, which is set to resume on Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 PM PST for Game 6.
