Pat Beverley Projects Suns Signing to Have Breakout Year

Bol Bol is going to breakout this year, according to Patrick Beverley.

The Phoenix Suns officially announced the signing of PF Bol Bol yesterday.

“Bol brings unique skills and abilities to our forward and center positions, which further enhances our depth and versatility,” said Suns President of Basketball Operations and General Manager James Jones in a statement from the team. “His continued growth and development will help make us a more complete team.”

That's certainly the hope, as the 7-2 Bol had his best year to date after averaging 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks as a role player.

His minutes likely won't expand on a deep Suns roster that features Kevin Durant. Devin Booker, Bradley Beal and Deandre Ayton among a slew of talented veterans that flocked to Phoenix in free agency.

However, notable Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley believes Bol will have a breakout season in his new surroundings:

Recently, Inside The Suns was able to speak with The Magic Insider's Jeremy Brener on how Bol will fit in Phoenix:

"I think Bol is going to learn a lot from Kevin Durant. Their bodies are so similar, and Durant has proven to be very durable over his career for the most part. Bol can't just magically turn into Durant; no one can. Fans shouldn't expect him to become KD-lite nor be surprised if this turns out to be a one-year stop in Bol's career," wrote Brener.

"The Suns added a lot of veteran players that have seen playoff action. Those are the ones who will round out the rotation in the playoffs. Bol Bol has to outplay a bunch of vets.

"That being said, he'll have some opportunity as the player with the most upside among Phoenix's transactions."

Bol certainly brings a wealth of upside - perhaps the Valley is the perfect place to springboard his talents to the next level.
