Suns Boast One of Top Summer League Players to Watch
Phoenix Suns guard Jordan Goodwin wasn't exactly the headliner of the trade that brought him to the Valley - but such is life when Bradley Beal is the one of the players featured.
Goodwin arrived in Phoenix along with Beal and Isaiah Todd - who was just last night dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a deal that netted the Suns three second-round picks for the future.
We know all about the roster Goodwin and Beal joined here in the Valley - it's a top heavy rotation that features Beal. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton with a fifth starter TBD.
The Suns did a good job of grabbing key veterans in free agency to help fill the rotation, though Phoenix will need each player from top to bottom to contribute - which includes Goodwin.
NBA.com's Brian Martin ranked 15 players to watch as NBA Summer League action begins, Goodwin being one of them:
"While Bradley Beal was the headliner in the offseason trade between Phoenix and Washington, he did not arrive alone. The Suns also received Goodwin, a 6-foot-3 guard that averaged 6.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in just under 18 minutes per game last season for the Wizards. With a top-heavy roster that has star power and massive salaries, the Suns need to hit on players like Goodwin to help provide depth to their lineup. What will Goodwin do in Vegas to show the Suns they acquired multiple impact players in that deal?"
Goodwin (24) has played in 64 NBA games over the past two seasons.
