Phoenix Suns SG Eric Gordon will turn 35 later this year, though he's still expected to be a strong contributor for a Suns squad looking to make good on their potential and win their first ever NBA title.

Gordon arrived via free agency after playing 69 games between the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets. He inked a two-year, $6.5 million deal with a player-option after this season according to Spotrac.

Phoenix needed three-point shooting and simply another scoring threat behind the likes of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal. Gordon's 42.3% from downtown last year in LA with an overall shooting percentage of 46% from the field can provide just that.

In the later stages of his career, Gordon now potentially shifts to a bench role with the fifth and final starter in Phoenix likely to be a forward, though nothing can be ruled out under Frank Vogel and the Suns' new staff.

Sixth Man of the Year Award odds were recently updated by BetOnline, and if you're looking for a major payday, Gordon has 50/1 odds to win the award he previously brought home in 2017.

Immanuel Quickley (5/1), Malcolm Brogdon (7/1) and Norman Powell (10/1) are the current top three favorites for the award.

To be eligible for the award, a player must come off the bench more times than he starts. When Gordon won the award in 2017, he started just 30 of 69 games and averaged 18 points per night.

Now, the Suns can rely on a strong shooter whenever they need to.

“You can never be afraid. Once they pass me the ball in a tough, crucial time, I’m ready to knock down those shots in different moments. That’s the good thing about this team. We’ve got all those guys who’ve all been in that situation of trying to knock down shots. My game suits anybody," Gordon said after signing with the team.

“I feel very confident with the group. The talent is there. Now we’ve just got to let the season come and make sure the chemistry is there. If we can bottle all that up and point it in the right direction, then I think we’ll do something special.”
