Suns Fans Show Out at Saturday's Open Practice
The time for Phoenix Suns basketball is here, as fans were able to grab their first look of the team at Saturday's open practice.
Although unofficial, the Suns may have tripled their head count from last season.
On Friday, Williams said the team would take it lightly on Saturday for a few reasons. The Suns endured a tough four days of practice prior, and with preseason beginning tomorrow, Williams wanted to ensure his guys were fresh.
Saturday provided a good opportunity for fans to see some of their favorite players, including the newly re-signed Deandre Ayton, who has drawn plenty of criticism following his bland Media Day appearance.
"It's a blessing. man. I talk about Phoenix everywhere I go. I don't understand why we haven't been spoken of as a flagship organization, fanbase and city," said Williams following the practice (h/t Duane Rankin).
"Just based on the quality of life here. But now the basketball team is something we feel like adds to that and you saw that today. I think people talked about it this summer, this is one of the hidden gems in the NBA, and you're starting to see it with this kind of turnout."
With another strong team in the fold, the Valley will once again look to back their Suns in hopes of claiming their franchise first NBA Finals title.
That journey unofficially begins Sunday, Oct. 2 against the Adelaide 36ers.
