Suns Forward Ish Wainright Supporting Cardinals at Training Camp
Phoenix Suns forward Ish Wainright is just like many of us: Looking to pass time until basketball activities are back.
Though they bowed out of the playoffs early, the Suns have kept themselves quite busy in an offseason that's seen a head coaching change, one massive trade that sent Chris Paul packing while welcoming Bradley Beal, and a hectic free agency period that filled out the remainder of the roster with veteran talent.
Wainright could have potentially hit free agency himself, though the Suns exercised his $1.9 million option for the 2023-24 season. Wainright - who will turn 29 here shortly - will be a restricted free agent after next season with a qualifying offer of $2.4 million.
Wainright has been in Phoenix since 2021 and has done a strong job of planting himself in the community, which includes supporting the Valley's other professional sports teams.
He was recently spotted at the Arizona Cardinals' training camp and made a nice little cameo on their social channels:
"What's up! Ish Wainright out here at open practice. Make sure y'all come out and support this year," said Wainright.
Training camp is a familiar place for Wainright, who played college football at Baylor and eventually joined the Buffalo Bills in training camp before not making the final roster.
The Suns will eventually move into their own training camp ahead of the preseason. The NBA season will begin around late October.
