Kevin Durant's Dagger Defeats Mavericks
The Phoenix Suns emerged to 3-0 in the Kevin Durant era thanks to a cold blooded shot from the man himself to put Phoenix ahead of the Dallas Mavericks 128-126 with under 12 seconds left in the game.
Down at the other end, Durant would grab a rebound after Luka Doncic's shot rimmed out, eventually being fouled with 3.5 seconds left before sinking two more free throws to five the Suns a 130-126 win.
Phoenix has won their last four-of-five games, and Durant's play after arriving to the Suns has been nothing short of expectations.
Durant vs. Charlotte: 23 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks
Durant vs. Chicago: 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal
Durant vs. Dallas: 37 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block
Durant's 37 points led all players on the court.
The Suns now have 17 games left in the regular season. Their 36-29 record keeps them in fourth place of the Western Conference standings.
They return to action on Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, which will be Durant's first home game in a Suns uniform (oddly enough against the team who drafted him).
Fans hope this isn't the last time Durant comes through in the clutch, though there's a first time for everything. Durant's ability to bury clutch shots now extends to the desert, even with other star players around him.
