Trade rumors are starting to pick up steam for the Phoenix Suns as the Feb. 9 NBA deadline approaches.

NBA insider Marc Stein reports the Suns have their eyes on Fred VanVleet, Terry Rozier and Immanuel Quickley as potential trade targets. It goes on to talk about how Phoenix is looking to acquire these guards because of concerns over Chris Paul’s health.

These concerns are valid as Paul has already missed 21 games this season alone and has a track record with recurring injuries. The 37-year-old point guard has clearly taken a step back and needs another reliable guard on the roster that can take a load off of him.

It's evident that all three guards the Suns might have potential interest in would impact the team in a positive way.

Quickley is only 23-years-old and under the leadership of Paul and Monty Williams, can reach his potential in Phoenix. It's not like Quickley is not already producing. He is averaging 12.4 points, 4.0 rebound and 3.2 assists for the New York Knicks. Not only will Quickley help the Suns out immediately upon being traded to the team but could be the point guard of the future if developed properly.

VanVleet may not be as young as Quickley is but if Phoenix is looking for a strong presence and veteran leadership in their locker room, VanVleet fits that description perfectly. The 2019 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors has a lot to give on the court especially on the offensive end where he is averaging 19.1 points this season.

If you want to talk about offensive dominance though, look at Rozier. The 28-year-old is in the midst of a career year for the Charlotte Hornets averaging 21.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Not to mention Rozier has averaged at least 18 points per game through his four seasons in Charlotte proving he is a consistent option.

The only problem Phoenix may run into in acquiring Quickley, Vanvleet and Rozier is their current contract situation. Quickley is in line to get a new extension as his rookie contract is set to end in the summer of 2024, Vanvleet has a $22 million player option this upcoming offseason as the Suns could lose him for nothing and Rosier is only in the first year of a hefty four-year, $96.3 million contract.

The Suns have a lot to think about before Feb. 9 and these three guards will definitely be on the top of their minds.
