A new season of NBA basketball is here, and the Phoenix Suns are again hoping to leave their mark on the regular season.

It will be difficult for the team to repeat their 64-win performance from last season, but with largely the same roster in place, Phoenix knows exactly what they're capable of.

The Suns' win total is currently set at 52.5 games for the regular season, tied with the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors for the top in the western conference.

The Athletic's Danny Leroux went through each team in the west and gave his predictions on the over/under for win totals this year.

For the 2022-23 Suns, he's aiming high:

"Without knowing any additional context, this line looks absolutely silly. The Suns dominated last season, winning 64 games with the differential of a 61-win team, and they largely bring back the same roster for this season," said Leroux.

"However, we all know the story is not nearly that simple with a variety of different clouds hanging over the franchise, and the seemingly imminent departure of Jae Crowder as well. It would be reasonable to expect a step back from last season’s high-water mark even if the vibes were closer to immaculate.

"But I cannot bring myself to conclude that the Suns will win 52 or fewer games this season, even though Chris Paul turned 37 and some of the key relationships appear to still be a bit chilly. An awkward, but still somewhat confident over."

Recently, CBS Sports published their predictions and told viewers to take the under.

It seems as if people are on the fence about Phoenix's chances to hit the over this season, as the team's performance could really go either way despite expectations for another playoff berth at very minimum.
