Suns Secure Game 4 Victory, Even Series With Nuggets
PHOENIX -- It was a battle that spilled over on to the sidelines, as even owner Mat Ishbia got involved in some extra curricular activities. At least in the minds of people in the Valley - the good guys won.
The Phoenix Suns were able to squeeze out a 129-124 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 4.
The second-round series is tied 2-2 heading into Game 5, ensuring the Suns will at least return home for a Game 6 currently scheduled for Thursday with no time.
It was more of the same for the dynamic duo of Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, who poured in a whopping points. The rest of Phoenix's starting lineup combined for just 17 points.
Yet it was the redemption arc of Landry Shamet that paid dividends for the Suns down the stretch, as he had 19 total points coming off the bench. Jock Landale (8) and Terrence Ross (8) also did their part as rotation players.
Nikola Jokic dominated with 53 points and ten assists. Jamal Murray finished with 28 points as the Nuggets again shot poor from downtown (7-22 tonight). In comparison, the Suns shot 13-29 (44.8%) from three-point land.
A key for Phoenix was winning the rebound battle - and they did just that with 37 boards to Denver's 32.
Game 5 will be Tuesday back in Denver.
