Devin Booker Expected to Play vs. Nuggets
Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker hasn't played in the last three games due to a groin injury, but anybody who thought the Suns' All-NBA scorer was missing a pristine Christmas Day matchup may have had too much eggnog.
Booker entered Sunday as questionable but appears to be playing, according to The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin.
"It's a big game. We say every game's the same but I've talked about it in the past Christmas game is something I always wanted for this organization. To make it happen last year and now be playing in my 2nd one, it's an exciting time," Booker said to Rankin.
The last time Booker stepped foot on the floor for Phoenix, he dropped a mere 58 points in a big win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns currently ride a two-game losing streak heading into their second consecutive Christmas Day appearance.
They've won just one of their last six on the holiday.
Awaiting them is the back-to-back MVP in Nikola Jokic, who has helped propel Denver to the West's top record at this point in the season.
Cameron Payne will again be out with a right foot strain.
Prior to the groin injury, Booker missed two games with a hamstring injury as well.
