Suns Reveal Starters vs Rockets
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns hope to find their winning ways against the Houston Rockets tonight. Here's the lineup head coach Frank Vogel has opted for:
Devin Booker
Eric Gordon
Grayson Allen
Kevin Durant
Jusuf Nurkic
Vogel confirmed Josh Okogie would once again play after being on the injury report as probable with a hip injury.
This starting lineup has played the most minutes together out of any five combination for the Suns, forming some continuity out of a season that's provided little of just that in Phoenix.
Vogel's squad has lost their last nine-of-twelve entering tonight, though they do hope the presence of Nurkic can help after the Bosnian has missed the last two nights due to personal reasons.
Allen led the way in Monday's loss vs Dallas with a season high 32 points with eight three-pointers made. It was just the third time all season where neither Booker or Durant led Phoenix in scoring.
"It is very easy to look around and be frustrated because we have the talent to win more games. I feel like we should be winning more games, but we are a new group, and we have to take the growing pains in stride and keep a positive energy," said Allen.
"You have to be very optimistic about the flashes that we do put together because that is truly who we are and who we can be."
The Suns have needed their role players to step up in a big way this season, which hasn't happened often enough. One bright spot on Monday was the emergence of Chimezie Metu off the bench, who provided 23 points and 19 rebounds in the loss.
Suns-Rockets will tip just after 6:00 PM Arizona time.
