The Phoenix Suns have been in the mix for superstars since the trade deadline when they acquired Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets

After flaring out of the playoffs earlier than anticipated, new owner Mat Ishbia wants to ensure the Suns are fully loaded entering the 2023-24 season. Phoenix has been connecting to names such as Kyrie Irving and Fred VanVleet in attempts to upgrade their backcourt.

However, Phoenix has not only thrown their name in the ring for Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, but they're also one of two finalists to land the shooting guard according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

It's a move that would undoubtedly force the Suns deeper into the luxury tax while also adding another notable name next to Durant and Devin Booker.

But what would it take to get Beal in Phoenix?

Beal - about to turn 30-years-old - recently inked a massive 5 year / $251,019,650 contract with the Wizards that also involved a no-trade clause on his end. If he wants to end up in Phoenix, Washington will be forced to make something work.

NBA on TNT's Chris Haynes reports the following package will have to be considered:

"Phoenix can offer a trade package of Deandre Ayton and Landry Shamet to Washington for Bradley Beal, but it’s believed a Chris Paul, Shamet deal is what it would take if Beal chose to force his way to the Suns via his no-trade clause," he said on Twitter:

For the Suns to make any sort of financial moves, it's believed both Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton will have to be off the team. Ayton ($32.4 million cap hit next year) has been heavily involved in trade speculation while Phoenix has until June 28 to waive Paul before his $30.8 million salary for next season becomes fully guaranteed.
