Hawks Star Ruled Out vs Suns
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns will not see Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young tonight, as the star guard was ruled out due to a torn ligament in his left finger.
Young is still recovering from surgery had three weeks ago after a specific tear of the radial collateral ligament (RCL) in the fifth finger of his left hand. His expected timetable is four weeks, which is set to put him out for the next few games.
“You feel awful for Trae more than anything,” Hawks coach Quin Snyder said previously. “It is going to be a challenge for him not to be out there.
“You have to adapt. That happened when we lost Jalen (Johnson). We have to have minutes from Kobe (Bufkin) and Patty (Mills) and we obviously know what (Dejounte Murray) can do. I don’t want to wallow in anything.”
Prior to his injury, Young was averaging 26.4 points and 10.8 assists per game.
Wesley Matthews (illness) is questionable while Jalen Johnson (right ankle injury), Saddiq Bey (left knee torn ACL), Kobe Bufkin (left big toe sprain), AJ Griffin (right ankle sprain), Mouhamed Gueye (right UCL sprain), and Young (left fifth finger torn ligament) were previously ruled out.
Since the Suns are on a back-to-back, Phoenix has yet to release their injury report.
