Aaron Gordon Immortalizes Poster Dunk Over Landry Shamet
The Phoenix Suns were playing the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day.
In the heat of overtime (with 30 seconds left) and Denver leading by one, Landry Shamet put up a three-point attempt that rimmed out and was soon grabbed by Aaron Gordon.
Gordon took the ball himself down the court and elevated over Shamet - who tried to set for a charge - and finished what was one of the best dunks of the season that sent the Denver home crowd into a frenzy.
Initially called for an offensive foul, officials would review the play and later overturn the call to a blocking foul on Shamet.
The Nuggets pulled out a 128-125 victory over Phoenix and the play will always be highly regarded by Gordon, who now has it immortalized on a diamond pendant:
The pendant features Gordon holding the Larry O'Brien trophy after the Nuggets won the 2023 NBA Finals, defeating the Suns in the second round on their postseason run to glory.
The jeweler "Buckz" told TMZ it took over 504 hours to make the piece and features 6.54 carats of VS1 diamonds. It's estimated to be worth around $20,000.
Gordon is entering the second year of a four-year, $86.6 million deal with Denver which includes a player option for the 2025-26 season.
Shamet is no longer in Phoenix after he was dealt alongside Chris Paul to the Washington Wizards in the Bradley Beal trade.
