Devin Booker Leaves Suns-Rockets With Injury
PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker left action and did not return in tonight's contest against the Houston Rockets.
With 1:15 left and the Suns down 117-109, Booker was guarding Fred VanVleet when his right ankle rolled on teammate Royce O'Neale's foot. Booker went down in obvious pain and hobbled to the locker room before action was stopped for a timeout.
Houston eventually won 118-109. Booker had 24 points and five assists.
Just 15 seconds later after Booker's injury, Suns coach Frank Vogel decided to empty the bench, conceding the win to Houston after Phoenix won their last matchup on Thursday.
The Suns have largely struggled to stay healthy this season, as Phoenix just got Bradley Beal back tonight after a hamstring issue.
“Just makes us a better basketball team. We are a better basketball team when he is out there. He is one of the best basketball players in the NBA and we missed him when he’s been out, so we are really excited to get him out there," said Vogel on Beal's return.
Beal was ejected for fighting.
The Suns play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
