Former Suns Forward 'Actively' Seeking Trade
PHOENIX -- Former Phoenix Suns forward PJ Tucker wants a new start elsewhere.
Those are his own words, according to ESPN.
“I’m not saying they’re gonna make a massive move, but they did just get Ivica Zubac back against Miami,” said Ohm Youngmisuk on the Los Angeles Clippers via the 'The Hoop Collective'.
“And so now they have three bigs. And of course they do have P.J. Tucker who wants to be traded, has made no secret about that. He even told me that just last week in Toronto. I think his words were ‘actively looking to get traded.'”
Tucker - currently 38-years-old - has been a popular name circled by Suns fans for a potential option in the buy-out market.
Our own Kevin Hicks highlighted Tucker as one of three "dream" buy-out candidates:
"Tucker has been linked to Phoenix as a potential fit for years now as well, much like Young. He spent 4.5 seasons in Phoenix before being traded to Toronto at the trade deadline in 2017.
"Tucker is is another example of someone that isn't the same player they once were, but he still brings much needed leadership, toughness, and the occasional big shot that a team such as the Suns can use.
"The roadblock in this scenario is Tucker would be unlikely to forego the remainder of the 3-yr, $30 million dollar contract he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in the summer of 2022."
