Insider: Suns Won't Trade Grayson Allen

The Phoenix Suns trading Grayson Allen would be a surprise.

PHOENIX -- The NBA's Feb. 8 trade deadline is quickly approaching, and the Phoenix Suns are rumored to be hot in the market.

"Phoenix continues to be mentioned as one of the more active teams on the trade market, hoping to find rotational upgrades behind its Big Three of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal," revealed Yahoo!'s Jake Fischer, who also added the Suns were open to dealing Grayson Allen and Nassir Little.

More can be found on that below:

Allen has arguably been Phoenix's most crucial piece as of late, stringing together tough defense and clutch three-point shooting to help the Suns crawl to their current 22-18 record.

Phoenix is limited in cash, player value (outside of the big three) and draft capital when it comes to the open market, so any trade value coming back to the Valley likely results in Allen's departure.

Arizona Sports insider John Gambadoro doesn't believe Allen's going anywhere:

"I do not expect the Suns to trade Grayson Allen. In fact if he keeps playing well I would not be surprised if they attempt to resign him in the offseason. For those thinking how? - they can keep him and pay him they would just have to pay the tax," Gambo wrote in a recent tweet.

Though Allen is set to hit free agency next offseason, the Suns do own his Bird rights and can ink him to an extension, so long as Mat Ishbia is willing to spend in the luxury tax.
