PHOENIX -- Team USA released their pool of 41 potential prospects for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, and two notable Phoenix Suns in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker made the cut among a slew of other stars that hope to bring back another gold medal for the red, white and blue.

One significant omission was Suns guard Bradley Beal, who previously was on the 2020 squad but was removed due to health and safety reasons stemming from COVID.

Beal previously said he would play in the games if chosen, though he's not hanging his head about seeing his name missing on the list:

"Listen man, I can sit here and cry about it, but it's 12 legit guys who are going over there to represent our country, and that's the only thing that matters is winning a gold medal whether it's me or whoever the hell else is out there - go get the gold medal. That's always been the job. That's always been the goal," said Beal via Duane Rankin.

"We're all on one team when it comes to that. Do I want to be on the team? Hell yes. I'll pass out waters for all I give a damn, but by no means is it a shot. I don't feel any way about it. Understandable 100%, but you got to pick 12 guys out of that group - I wouldn't want that job. At all. You can't go wrong with any 12, sure."

Beal struggled with health at the beginning of the 2023-24 season but has since reached 100% and has flashed the scoring prowess so many had hoped for after the Suns acquired him via trade.

Phoenix hopes to make a deep push into the NBA postseason and are currently on a seven-game winning streak.
