Bradley Beal Updates Ankle Injury: 'Very Promising'
PHOENIX -- Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal can't seem to catch a break.
The Suns acquired Beal over the summer in hopes of forming one of the top star trios in the league alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
As we approach the final weeks of 2023, that's yet to come to fruition.
All three stars have missed various amounts of time, though Beal himself has featured in just six games mostly due to lower back issues that plagued him since the start of preseason.
Last week saw the trio's first regular season start once Beal was fully healthy, though an ankle sprain suffered the following game again has delayed the progress and chemistry Phoenix desperately needs to make before the postseason hits.
It's a frustrating situation all around, though Beal recently told The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin he felt promising about the injury.
"Today, I woke up a lot better, I can put a lot of weight on my foot. I can walk around. Very promising," said Beal prior to Phoenix's game against the Washington Wizards.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported over the weekend Beal was expected to miss "weeks" with the injury.
When asked by Rankin if he was going to make it back within two weeks, Beal said, "I hope so."
The Suns are 14-12 and are the No. 10 seed in the West as things stand.
Phoenix is expected to provide an official statement on Beal at some point early this week, which could come as soon as today.
