PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns are preparing to host the San Antonio Spurs on two occasions this week, the first of their matchups coming tomorrow on Oct. 31.

The 2-1 Frank Vogel-led Suns could likely be without two of their top stars in Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

Today, Beal was ruled out again with back tightness. Beal has only played in a handful of preseason games and will have missed all four regular season tilts played thus far.

Booker, dealing with an ankle injury, is listed as doubtful. He played in the season opener but reportedly injured his ankle after already dealing with a toe problem that caused him to miss the preseason finale.

“The more we get them on the court, the quicker they get back,” Kevin Durant said via Duane Rankin. “Those guys are working extremely hard to get stronger and rehab their injuries. Can’t wait to have them back.”

Durant has shouldered the load while both stars have been out. He's averaging 27.7 points on 47.5% shooting from the field with 8.3 rebounds and four assists per night, too.

“Getting closer, not there yet,” Vogel said. “Definitely making progress. ... Those guys are really chomping at the bit and as soon as they get cleared medically and feeling right with what’s ailing them, they’ll be out there."

After their two home games against San Antonio, they'll be on the road Saturday to face the Philadelphia 76ers for the first of a three-game road trip that also features stops in Detroit and Chicago.
