If you're hungry for NBA news and rumors, the Phoenix Suns have more on their plate than most teams in the league.

You can thank Deandre Ayton's pending dance in free agency (although restricted) and recent developments of Kevin Durant's desires to play in Phoenix for the extra heaping portions of Suns news today.

Those two scenarios will play out naturally, although there have been some suggestions that Ayton would be part of a deal back to Brooklyn for Durant.

The league's salary cap, taking into account BYC (base year compensation) and certain trade rules surrounding the luxury tax sometimes complicate things. This scenario is no different.

As the Suns begin framework to potentially land a superstar, Phoenix is also getting ready to fork up more money to one of their own.

Thanks to his All-NBA nod this season, Suns guard Devin Booker became eligible for a four-year, $211 million extension that would kick in before the 2024-25 season.

NBA insider Marc Stein expects Booker, among other notable names, to verbally agree to these extensions right at the 6:00 p.m. ET opening of negotiations Thursday.

Stein also added, "Extensions for Jokic, Booker, Towns, Morant, etc., must wait six hours until AFTER 12:01 AM on July 1 when the new league year officially starts ... only free agents can verbally agree to new deals between 6 PM and midnight tonight."

Booker previously inked a five-year, $158.25 million maximum contract extension prior to the 2018 offseason, and is set to see another massive deal come his way.
