Report: Nike Inks Devin Booker to Extension
What a week to be Devin Booker.
After signing a four-year, $214 million supermax contract extension and unveiling he the cover art for his appearance on the display of NBA 2K23, Booker solidified his presence as a Nike athlete with a reported contract extension that will see him remain with the global shoe brand through 2029 according to Boardroom.
"After first signing with Nike prior to being drafted by Phoenix in 2015 and extending again in 2018, Booker’s newest extension will ensure no less than a 15-year tenure with the Swoosh through 2029," said Boardroom.
"The 25-year-old University of Kentucky phenom and Nike will also work together on creative lifestyle collaborations outside of traditional basketball activations."
Booker's shoe game has been some of the best in the NBA, as he loves to rock Kobe's while on the court. Along with being a sleek shoe design for ball-handlers, Booker's personal relationship with the late Bryant also provides an extra layer of inspiration to lace the same shoes up.
Boardroom also pointed out the different collaborations Booker has done for his own line of personalized shoes.
"Known for his clean tunnel style and refined taste, Booker has also released his own Air Force 1 collab — a light blue low-top in 2019 that took inspiration from his Mississippi high school, Moss Point. Along with Nike and NBA 2K, Booker’s other key endorsement deals and investments include Autograph, Sweetgreen, Buzzer, GoPuff, ASTRO, Scuf, Beats by Dre, and COCO5."
Booker has emerged as the face of the Phoenix Suns, and immersing himself as one of the top faces of the global Nike brand may just be around the corner.
