Devin Booker Speaks on Altercation vs Rockets
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns walked away with a win against the Houston Rockets last night, though it didn't come with complete smooth sailing.
In the fourth quarter, Devin Booker and Cam Whitmore got into a heated scuffle:
Phoenix ultimately brought home a 110-105 win over a tough Rockets squad, and Booker spoke on what happened after the action:
“It started last game. Same thing. Just competing and being extra physical. I like it. I have been in these situations plenty of times before. I was that same young player doing that same thing," Booker said.Â
"I remember doing it to Jimmy Butler my rookie year and him going into postgame talking about me. Plenty of people. So, you never want to back down and I respect him going at a top player. Just have to be ready for it.” Â
Suns center Jusuf Nurkic offered his own two cents on the situation:
“The kid did some some bulls— in Houston too, if you remember,” Nurkić said (h/t Burn City).
“They want to play the nonsense basketball. I understand they’re young, and they got to get fired up. They have a good coach, and I think they have a great set up for the future, but we don’t want to play the antics basketball. I want to always have the back of my teammates.”
The Suns face the Rockets again on Saturday.
