Suns SG Devin Booker Expected to Miss Multiple Games
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns will be without Devin Booker and Bradley Beal tonight when they face the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Suns started their season off on the right foot with a 108-104 victory over the Golden State Warriors on opening night, though it's the left foot of Booker that's keeping him out.
The Suns listed Booker as doubtful heading into tonight with left foot soreness. Booker was on the previous injury report with a toe injury but still played vs Golden State after missing the preseason finale.
NBA on TNT reporter Jared Greenberg tweeted the following update on Booker before Suns-Lakers began, revealing his injury is actually a sprain and he is expected to miss multiple games:
"NEW: Devin Booker is out tonight due to a left mid-foot sprain which he suffered during Tuesday’s win at Golden State. A team source tells me Booker is aiming to return to action Tuesday pending the results of an MRI which he will receive when the team returns home. @NBAonTNT"
That would mean Booker is expected to miss the team's home opener against the Utah Jazz on Saturday night. Phoenix is slated to host the San Antonio Spurs next Tuesday and Thursday.
Booker missed over a month of last year's season with a groin injury suffered on Christmas Day against the Denver Nuggets.
The Suns - without Booker and Beal - will look for another win with Kevin Durant leading the way as the only member of the Big 3 tonight.
