Suns Guards Devin Booker, Bradley Beal Will Play vs Minnesota
PHOENIX -- The return of Devin Booker is here.
On Tuesday, AZ Central's Duane Rankin reported the Phoenix Suns are expected Booker - who has been out with a calf strain - to make his return when the team hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday evening.
Bradley Beal has been dealing with lower back tightness throughout the season but will also be good to go.
"Sources have informed The Arizona Republic that Devin Booker is expected to make his return Wednesday after missing five straight games with a right calf strain and Bradley Beal will also play after tweaking his back again in Sunday’s home loss to Oklahoma City." - Duane Rankin
The Suns are just 4-6 on the season and have yet to see their star-studded trio of Kevin Durant, Booker and Beal take center stage on the court. Booker has missed eight out of ten games thus far due to lower leg/foot injuries while Beal has featured in Phoenix's last three contests.
“He’s doing some light shooting, got a little bit into our team drill work. So getting closer," Suns coach Frank Vogel said on Booker over the weekend.
“He makes this thing go," said Durant after their recent loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
"Without him, we can’t go where we want to go. He puts so much pressure on defenses and guards one through four. We miss him and we can’t wait to have him back. I know he is chomping at the bit but it takes time to get healthy.”
It's obvious Phoenix has missed Booker, who has established himself as one of the best scorers in the league. He's averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists in the two contests he's played.
