Mikal Bridges Posts Emotional Message After Trade to Nets

It was hard for all Phoenix Suns fans to say goodbye to Mikal Bridges. It was even harder for him to reflect his feelings towards the team and fanbase.

The Phoenix Suns no longer employ Mikal Bridges, and that's something plenty of fans simply never wanted to hear. 

Since first stepping foot into the Valley, the Villanova product captured the hearts and minds of Suns fans with his tough defense, mentality to play through any injury and personality that shined on the court nearly as much as it did outside of the lines.

Yet the NBA is a business, and new owner Mat Ishbia wants to be in the business of winning championships. 

So when the opportunity to bring on the player of Kevin Durant's caliber arrives, you don't think twice. 

Durant is now the newest member of the Suns after he and TJ Warren were dealt from Brooklyn in exchange for Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and a 2028 pick swap. 

There's hope that Durant can help push Phoenix over the championship hunt, something they've desperately needed the last two years despite having one of the better rosters in the NBA.

Yet for now, the trade is still fresh after being made in the hours leading to the deadline, and thus the emotion on both sides of the trade reflect that. 

In an emotional Instagram post, Bridges paid massive thanks to the entire Suns organization, fan base and teammates.
