Suns Officially Sitting Bradley Beal Next Two Weeks
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns have made an official announcement on Bradley Beal.
From the team's official press release moments ago:
"Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal will miss the next two weeks of play to rehab a right ankle sprain. He will be re-evaluated at the start of January."
Beal has played in just six games thus far, missing a good majority of the season due to lower back issues that saw Phoenix sit him for three weeks while that healed.
Beal sprained his ankle in the first quarter of last week's loss to the New York Knicks, though the shooting guard said he is already feeling promising about the injury.
"Today, I woke up a lot better, I can put a lot of weight on my foot. I can walk around. Very promising," he told The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin.
Suns coach Frank Vogel says his top priority is keeping Beal's spirits up.
"Injuries are part of the game and [we're] disappointed for him. He's worked really hard. You could see the disappointment on his face in the back," he said after the game.
"That's my biggest concern is just keeping him lifted. He'll get back soon enough but it's been a frustrating injury type of season for him. In terms of us, injuries are part of the game. So we can't get caught up in that. It's just part of it and you move on."
The Suns are currently 14-12 and play the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow. Phoenix has six more games remaining in December.
