The Phoenix Suns have long awaited the return of shooting guard Devin Booker.

Booker's played just 29 games thus far, mostly due to a groin injury suffered back in December. He initially missed three games with the injury before making a push to come back for a big Christmas Day matchup with the Denver Nuggets, yet he strained it further just four minutes into action and has missed each game since.

Booker was initially supposed to be reevaluated last week before having his recovery pushed back further. There was some initial hope he could have returned during the team's two-game homestand this week but that didn't come to fruition.

Yet Booker is closely nearing his return, and a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski suggests that might come next Tuesday during the team's five-game road trip.

"Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, sidelined the past five weeks because of a left groin strain, could return as soon as Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, sources told ESPN.

"Booker has been ramping up his on-court work, and is expected to join the Suns at the start of a five-game road trip that begins Friday in Boston and continues Saturday at Detroit."

Their upcoming road trip is as followed:

Friday Feb. 3: at Boston Celtics

Saturday Feb. 4: at Detroit Pistons

Tuesday Feb. 7: at Brooklyn Nets

Thursday Feb. 9: at Atlanta Hawks

Friday Feb. 10: at Indiana Pacers

Prior to his injury, Booker averaged 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per night on 47.7% shooting. He's hit over 50 points twice thus far with one 49-point outing nearly making it three.

The Suns won six-of-seven games prior to losing to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night.
