Suns Rule Kevin Durant Out vs Warriors

The Suns' big three must wait another game to play together.

The long-awaited regular season debut of the Phoenix Suns' big three isn't in the cards tonight, as Suns superstar Kevin Durant is officially ruled out for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors.

The Athletic's Shams Charania broke the news minutes ago, as the Suns are opting to sit Durant out for a second consecutive game after the all-star forward tweaked his ankle in the closing minutes of the Suns' in-season tournament loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last week.

This marks the fourth game Durant will miss this season - his constant positive health bills have been a pleasant surprise for Suns fans, but his absence tonight unfortunately coincides with Bradley Beal's confirmed return to the lineup after missing nearly a month of action.

The Suns' star is firmly in the NBA MVP race, averaging a 31/6.5/5.7 stat line slash while playing some of his best defense in years.

He is also on pace to be eligible for postseason awards and looks to be a shoe-in for All-NBA honors in the coming months.

Durant will presumably return to the lineup tomorrow night to face his most recent former team in the Brooklyn Nets for the first time since he was traded to Phoenix in February.

The Suns will look to best the struggling Warriors minus Durant behind a strong perimeter attack lead by Beal, Devin Booker, and Eric Gordon.

The game is set to tip off shortly after 8 PM Arizona time and will be broadcast on both ESPN and AZ Family.
