Suns Secure Future All-Star Weekend Bid
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns will be hosting 2027 NBA All-Star activities, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
"The NBA is nearing plans for Phoenix and the Suns to host 2027 All-Star Weekend. ... One year into new governor Mat Ishbia's ownership, Suns win an NBA All-Star bid. The Phoenix Mercury will also host 2024 WNBA All-Star," wrote Charania on Twitter/X.
Indianapolis recently hosted All-Star activities, and like Charania said, Phoenix is also set to host 2024 WNBA All-Star festivities.
The Suns have undergone massive changes since Mat Ishbia first took over one year ago, on and off the court. Phoenix's roster looks massively different with stars such as Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal entering the Valley while Ishbia's push for more available viewing for games and a re-done guest experience has been welcomed by Suns fans.
This will be the fourth time Phoenix has hosted NBA All-Star weekend, last doing so in 2009. The city also was home to action in 1975 and 1995.
The state of Arizona has been home to some of the biggest sporting events in the world such as the Super Bowl, NCAA Tournament Final Four, numerous international soccer matches and more.
