Suns Sign Guard Duane Washington Jr. to Two-Way Deal
On Tuesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Phoenix Suns signed guard Duane Washington Jr. to a two-way contract.
Washington initially entered the league by signing a two-way deal with the Indiana Pacers after going undrafted in 2021. He played 48 games for Indiana last season and averaged 9.9 points, 1..7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 20.2 minutes averaged per game.
According to Wiki, "on Jan. 24, Washington scored a team-high 21 points, knocking down seven 3-pointers, setting a franchise record for most threes by a rookie while becoming the 36th rookie in the league history to hit seven threes in a game."
Washington was waived by the Pacers on July 14.
He can play either point or shooting guard and just turned 22-years-old in March. He is 6-foot-3 and listed at 197 pounds.
Washington, whose father also played in the league, is also the nephew of former Los Angeles Lakers legend Derek Fisher.
Washington becomes the newest addition to the Suns, who have also welcomed new players such as Damion Lee, Josh Okogie and Jock Landale.
