At this point, the Phoenix Suns might just take any help possible.

Things are beginning to slide for a Suns team that has lost their previous eight-of-nine games and are still without the likes of Devin Booker and Cam Johnson with Chris Paul and Cam Payne joining the injury report, too

Phoenix can't seem to catch a break on or off the court, as Jae Crowder has yet to be moved and the trade deadline is just one month away.

The Suns will ultimately need to land suitable replacement for Crowder (perhaps that's the hold up with Phoenix and what they deem 'suitable'), and options appear to be running slim.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Suns were just one of a handful teams that showed interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Kelly Oubre Jr. prior to his injury:

"Cleveland, Phoenix and Toronto had been circulating as teams that had trade interest in the Hornets' Kelly Oubre Jr. until Oubre was forced to undergo left hand surgery this week expected to sideline him for four-to-six weeks," said Stein.

The Suns need help immediately, so obviously Oubre's lack of availability is an obstacle in getting something done now. Perhaps down the road (if the Suns are able to regain momentum) Phoenix could add a healthy Oubre to the lineup and bolster their squad heading into the postseason.

Yet the playoffs are the least of worries right now around a team that's won just five games dating back to the start of December.

Still, Oubre's presence could boast results for the Suns despite only being a potential rental.

According to B/R, "The 27-year-old Oubre is in his eighth NBA season. He is averaging a career-high 20.2 points on 42.1 percent shooting (30.8 percent from three-point range) and 5.1 rebounds for the Hornets in 35 games (30 starts).

"The 6'6" wing is a free agent next offseason after signing a two-year, $24.6 million contract with the Hornets before the 2021-22 campaign."
