Report: Suns Sent Trade Offer to Nets
PHOENIX -- It's trade deadline day, and the Phoenix Suns are looking to make some noise.
There's been various news, rumors and whispers about what the organization can do, though the Suns have mostly been tied to names such as Miles Bridges and Royce O'Neale.
We've yet to hear what Phoenix offered Charlotte for Bridges, but HoopsHype's Michael Scotto is reporting the following on a potential deal between Phoenix and the Brooklyn Nets for O'Neale:
"O’Neale has drawn trade interest from the Rockets and Cavaliers recently, league sources told HoopsHype. The Suns have also remained in the mix to land O’Neale. Nassir Little and multiple second-round picks have been dangled in trade talks for O’Neale, league sources told HoopsHype. Other teams who’ve circled the wagon on O’Neale include the Lakers, Mavericks, Nuggets, Pacers, Kings, and Bucks."
That trade package is fairly consistent with what we've seen Phoenix dangle on the market (Little and second-round picks), though we'll see if it is indeed enough to land a player that is obviously highly coveted in O'Neale.
Earlier this week, Suns coach Frank Vogel was asked about potentially making a move:
"It's the same thing with every team, every year. If there's opportunities to improve your team, this is the time to explore them at the most. I think we're definitely doing that," said Suns coach Frank Vogel on trade talks.
"James Jones and the front office [are] doing their diligence and seeing what's out there but also remain very confident in what we have."
The trade deadline is today at 1:00 PM Arizona time.
