Two Suns Named to USA Olympic Roster Pool

PHOENIX -- Two Phoenix Suns have been named to the 40+ player pool that could represent Team USA in the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer.
Kevin Durant and Devin Booker - both having previously donned the red, white and blue - saw their names listed among a slew of stars that would be heavy favorites for the Americans to repeat as gold medalists.

Former Suns in Chris Paul, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson were also included in the pool.
Both Durant and Booker were previously asked if they would commit to the international games ahead of the 2023-24 season, and neither hesitated.
"I'll do it," said Booker while Durant added, ""I will be playing in the Paris Olympics."
Suns guard Bradley Beal previously expressed interest but was not selected. He was on the 2020 team but did not play due to COVID.
Team USA is expected to be even more stacked thanks to Joel Embiid's decision to play for the country over France. 2024 could be the final international appearance for players such as LeBron James and Steph Curry among others.
The Americans have won gold the last seven-of-eight games, with their lone failure coming in the form of a bronze medal in the 2004 Greece Olympics. They have medaled in all 19 Olympics they've participated in dating back to 1936.
