WATCH: Malik Monk Dunk of the Year Candidate vs Suns
PHOENIX -- Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk had gotten things done on the defensive side of the court in Friday's contest against the Phoenix Suns, tallying three blocks in the first half.
Yet it'll be his offensive play - with one play in particular - that will be remembered from tonight.
Roughly halfway through the second quarter, the Kings forced a turnover which then turned into a 3 v 2 fastbreak opportunity.
Monk - trailing on the play - received the dish and hammered home a dunk that still likely has the rim rattling:
Shortly after the play, Monk picked up his third foul and was relegated to the bench. Monk scored just three points in ten minutes coming off the bench but also notched one rebound, two assists and two steals along with his trio of blocks.
The Kings have led majority of the way and carried a 47-38 advantage after Monk's dunk.
They're 16-10 on the year prior to tonight and look to continue building their advantage over Phoenix, who is just 14-13.
The Kings previously played the Suns earlier in December and emerged with a 114-106 victory in the desert.
Monk was initially questionable heading into tonight with a foot injury.
