PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns once again proved to be the most perplexing team in the entire NBA last night in a 128-103 drubbing at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Suns backed up their impressive victory over the Denver Nuggets in a game where they were outscored in all four quarters.

Phoenix did have one saving grace on Friday - the Sacramento Kings' loss kept the Suns in the lead for the No. 7 seed out West, but they fell farther behind the Dallas Mavericks/New Orleans Pelicans (both teams of which are in the top 6 in the standings).

The Suns put forth an inspiring effort in the first quarter before Oklahoma City took over the remaining 36 minutes of the game - the performance from the Suns to close the game was head-scratching to say the least as a follow-up to defeating the Nuggets.

This loss was just another example of all the glaring flaws this team has being magnified against a quality team - lack of attention to detail, turning the ball over too much, and a lack of discipline defensively on the perimeter.

OKC shot over 50% from three-point range and saw seven players score 10 or more points - just one game after holding Denver to sub-100 points and forcing MVP Nikola Jokic into a second consecutive shaky performance against their defense.

The Suns have a chance to make a dent in the standings once again on Monday against the Pelicans - but the recent stretch of play hasn't instilled much confidence in believing they can pull the victory off.
