Suns React to Grayson Allen Extension
PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns officially announced the contract extension of Grayson Allen, who reportedly agreed to a four-year, $70 million deal to remain in the Valley past this season.
Allen - who was acquired via trade from the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of the 2023-24 regular season - has hit new heights in his career, propelling himself to a key part of Phoenix's lineup while establishing himself as one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA.
“We want him here. It’s a perfect match. What we’re about, what he’s about, we want to win at everything. And Grayson said that not only do I want to win, I want to win here in Phoenix and I’ll show you: I’ll take less to come here and be a part of something special and to compete for a championship," general manager James Jones told reporters.
"And those are the types of players that you bet on every time.”
Allen himself said he didn't want to go anywhere else.
“I knew I wanted to be here, so that kind of out-weighed the fact of trying to wonder what’s out there. Mat [Ishbia], James and Josh [Bartelstein] gave me an offer that I felt like was worth it to wait and not wonder," said Allen.
"I’m very happy that I’m here and that I’m going to be here a little longer.”
The Suns begin their postseason run on Saturday, April 20 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
