In this story:

Entering the 2023 NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder owned two selections, one at No. 12 overall and the other at No. 50 overall. While the lottery pick gave the Thunder a chance to really add a cornerstone piece, drafting late in the second round is much harder to acquire a quality NBA talent.

With the second of its two selections, Oklahoma City selected Kansas State star Keyontae Johnson.

One of the more heartwarming stories in the entire draft, Johnson just returned to play in the 2022-23 season after collapsing on the floor just a few years prior with Florida.

Johnson averaged 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in helping Kansas State to one of its best seasons in years.
