NBA Mock Draft: Thunder Snag Second-Round Steal

Oklahoma City’s early second-round selection could prove valuable.

Now that the NBA Draft Combine is over, prospects have begun more individual workouts with teams. Furthermore, agencies have put on pro days for their prospects in hopes of increasing draft stock.

Outside of a lottery selection, the Oklahoma City Thunder own two second-round picks as well. One of these is early in round two at No. 37 overall, which is a great spot to land underrated talent. Who could Oklahoma City take in this spot?

Matt Babcock of Draft Digest recently released a mock draft for the 2023 class following the combine, which gives insight into where some of the top players in the upcoming rookie class could land. His projection has the Thunder selecting one of the most mysterious prospects in this class with the No. 37 pick.

Bobi Klintman, Wake Forest
Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Bobi Klintman checks a lot of the boxes that Thunder GM Sam Presti looks for. With that in mind, he wasn’t the most productive college player, averaging just 5.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per game. This would be more of an upside swing, as he stands at 6-foot-10 with perimeter skills.

This would be a great pick for Oklahoma City if Klintman fell to the second round. With that in mind, he is likely a first-round talent, especially if he dropped out of the combine based on feedback from teams. Regardless, players fall unexpectedly every single year.

Klintman would provide depth on the wing for the Thunder as the team continues to look for length and positional versatility. He might be more of a project pick, but has a ton of upside.
