Thunder Offense Struggles Tremendously in Big loss to Bucks
The Oklahoma City (49-21) continued their road trip on Sunday in Milwaukee for their first of two dates with the Bucks (46-25) this season. A physical matchup broke out in a battle of two of the NBA's best. That swung things in Milwaukee's favor in a hurry.
After a back-and-forth first half, the Bucks enjoyed a 21-9 run to swell their lead to 14 in the third frame. Milwaukee used its physically imposing defense to keep the Thunder out of the paint as Oklahoma City clanked three after three. The Bucks sank their share of triples, while dominating inside taking what they wanted inside the paint.
Oklahoma City had no such luck, as the Thunder could rarely get a shot up in the paint, much less convert losing that battle 58-32.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was flustered by the Bucks' swarming defense only producing 12 points, three rebounds and two assists in this contest. The typically efficient guard shot 41 percent from the floor, 0-for-3 from 3-point land and even missed one of his three free throws.
Josh Giddey was the bright spot in this game, putting up an efficient 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Giddey looked confident and in control tonight even knocking down four triples.
Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated in this contest with little resistance as the two-time MVP flexed his muscles on his way to 30 points, 19 rebounds and four assists.
Up next, the Oklahoma City Thunder will head to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans in the final game of a three-game road trip.
