One of the newest Thunder additions is set to join the team’s 2023 Summer League roster.

TyTy Washington, who was acquired via trade just a few short days ago, will officially join the Oklahoma City Summer League roster in Las Vegas, per Thunder PR.

The 6-foot-3 guard was a first round selection just last year, being taken 29th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by Houston. He hails from Kentucky, where he had his stock as high as the late lottery before seeing a draft-night slide.

Washington was shaky in NBA action, but a clear step above G League competition.

In 31 NBA games with Houston last season, Washington averaged 4.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting just 36 percent overall and 24 percent from beyond the arc.

In his G League stint, just eight games, he averaged 26.6 points, 7.6 assists, 6.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 40 percent overall, 26 percent from beyond the arc and 87 percent at the line.

Washington even had a 53-point performance versus the Stockton Kings, hitting 15 of his 34 attempts and grabbing 12 rebounds, dishing four assists and nabbing two steals in the process.

The Thunder Summer League squad next takes on the Wizards at 3:30 p.m. on Friday in the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, NV. There’s been no word yet on whether Washington will suit up.
